The Weapons of Epoch Star

There are a variety of weapon types in Epoch Star. With over 1000 weapon and devices in the game, we will try to summarize these devices into groups.
  • Heavy Cannon Weapons - Slower firing heavy projectile weapons.
  • Heat Seaking Weapons - Projectile weapons that seek out the nearest enemy ship.
  • Lasers - Vanilla beam weapons.
  • Tractor Beams - Beam weapons that pull the target twords your ship.
  • Rapid Fire Projectile Weapons - Rapid fire weapons that shoot projectiles a a high rate.
  • Repulsor Beams - Beam weapon that pushes the target away from the firing ship.
  • Defense Lasers - Fast firing low damage lasers used to destroy incomming projectiles.
  • Shockwave Weapons - Shock Waves that eminate from the firing ship doing damage to everything in it's radius.
  • Seige Weapons - Explosive cannon rounds that detonate when they reach a certain distance from the firing ship.
  • Flame Thrower Weapons - Slow moving spray weapons.
  • Charge Devices - This group of devices does a variety of repairs and bonuses to engines, batteries, shields and ship structure.
  • Cloaking Devices - This device gives temporary invisibility to the ship using it.
  • Repair Devices - These devices give instant repairs to the ships that use them.
  • Mines - Mines float in space until a ship gets close enough to them to detonate.
  • Portal Devices - This device opens a Jump Gate to the Lustalla System.
  • Phantom Devices - This device creates a "Phantom" which seeks out and destroys nearby enemy ships.
  • Shields - Defensive shields that protect your ship from damage.
  • Armor - Defensive armor that protects your ship from damage.
In addition to the different types of weapons, there are also Bonuses and Ailments that those weapons can have.   Below is a list of bonuses and ailments that can be assigned to a weapon or device.

Bonuses

  • Defense Recharge - Increases the shield recharge rate of the target ship.
  • Energy - Increases the battery energy recharge rate of the target ship.
  • Attack - Increases the attack damage of the target ship.
  • Engine - Increases the speed of the target ship.
  • Defense - Decreases the amount of damage that is done to the target ship.

Ailments

  • Stunned - Temporarily disables the engines of the target ship.
  • Slow - Decreases the speed of the target ship.
  • Vulnerable - Does damage directly to the structure of the target ship, ignoring shields and armor.
  • Weak - Reduces the attack effectiveness of the target ship.
  • No Recharge - Temorarily disables the engine battery recharge of the target ship.
  • No Energy - Eliminates all energy in the engine batteries of the target ship.
